Hi all,

Yes, all the news is true. We've been bought by Yahoo!

We're really happy about this and look forward to many years of continuing development, innovation, and damn cool Widgets.

We love this stuff. Seriously. And that's why we went to Yahoo. We'll now have the ability to not only have access to feeds for their hundreds of properties, but we're in a position to help define how they work and what they are. And our Widget developers get an extra special treat. This here forum is the new bootstrap Yahoo Developer community. We're hoping to use Konfabulator as a way to get some amazing Yahoo technology to developers.

I'm about as tired as they come right now, but there are a few people here that I'm sure will pop in and explain the wonders that are our new lives at Yahoo.

We're excited. Widgets for everyone!

Cheers,
Arlo Rose

What about releasing 2.1? Or is the release of 2.1 actually the news you've been bought by Yahoo!?

Three cheers for the Pixoria crew!
Congratulations. I hope they made you so rich that you can each have fiery-robot security installed at your beachfront villas. You deserve it.

Hmmm, I just bought Konfabulator and now it's free... That is just my luck biggrin.gif

Let's hope Yahoo doesn't do to Konfabulator what AOL did to Winamp.

You can pretty much count on that happening, just waiting for them to load it up with spyware and the likes. Well here goes another great product down the toilet.

Top 5 Reasons this *might* not be a good thing...

5. Mac development of Konfab is going to slow to a crawl, compared to Windows development. The mac version will hit v2.3 at around the same time Windows hits v5.0...

4. The inevidable ad widget that is going to be required in order to even run Konfab...

3. Death of all current funcitoning 3rd party widgets...

2. Accessing of any information not on Y! will eventually be phased out...

1. Y! decides the whole Konfab thing isn't worth it so they scrap the whole thing...

Ugg, I'm really worried now... sad.gif
