Introducing TwirlendarDownload: Twirlendar 1.02 Twirlendar lets you see the current date in a cool new style. It also lets you browse through previous and next months. All this in a fully customizable UI: fonts, colors, sizes and more can be customized to fit your desktop! However, be aware that this Widget might not work properly with every font you select so choose wisely! There's also a small bonus for dock users: Twirlendar also shows you the current date on the dock! So, what do you think about the Widget? We'll be happy to read your comments and suggestions for the next versions. Enjoy the Widget! Change Logv1.0 to v1.02 * Added localizations support for month and day names for all languages supported by the Yahoo Engine * Fixed minor positional bug with the background shape v0.95 to v1.0 * Added localization support * Added French, German, Spanish and Russian * Increased default size of days

Works fine on Mac OS X 10.4.11 with K 4.5.1x10A39. The Today's Highlight options Star, Flower and Circle are pretty well indistinguishable at smaller (i.e. reasonable ) sizes of the calendar.

QUOTE(Rob Marquardt @ Jan 4 2008, 12:15 AM) Comic Sans as the default font? Nooooooooo! Rob!!! This isn't a business newsletter or anything else where MS Comic Sans is way too inappropriate. It is a default font in a widget and, in this case, from a design perspective, it works just fine. I too have seen far too many inappropriate uses of a casual font like this one but thefont works here (better than some other common ones) and it makes it a little fun. Plus, this way, we get responses like yours and create a little dialog around the widget... see, it was all part of a grand, evil marketing plan for a little, bitty circular calendar widget. Muahhahahha If we can keep this up, if the discussion, and legend continues, to grow....perhaps one day...we can sell it for.....ONE MILLION DOLLARS...(pinky in mouth).....muahhahhamauuauuahaaahhahahaha

Okay, version 1.0 has been posted. It includes larger default sizes (and larger options) for the mouse over day names, and.... LOCALIZATION OPTIONS!!!Right now, it has basic support for French, German, Spanish and Russian. WE NEED YOUR HELP!Anyone want to contribute the months and day names for other languages...it would be greatly appreciated! Just post here and we will add them in the next revision. There is actually a complete localization string file for those that are interested in helping translate the entire widget. It can be downloaded here: http://www.WidgetWorld.com/downloads/twirl...lizable.stringsThanks for your help and support...and enjoy the widget!

QUOTE(jcmatador @ Jan 9 2008, 12:39 AM) Right now, it has basic support for French, German, Spanish and Russian. Hum... Can't find how to switch languages... Some suggestions, if I may: I have the widget opacity set to around 30% (so the Twirlendar blends nicely with my wallpaper), and when I call "Reset to color" the Alert Message window is also at 30%. Maybe you should set widget opacity to 255 before showing the alert and then restore it. Or add an opacity option for the main window. The dock background shape may imitate the Today's Highlight: star, flower, etc. (dot can be a smaller circle only behind the date). And maybe use the same rotation?...

QUOTE(jcmatador @ Jan 9 2008, 05:47 AM) As for the language, it is a engine wide setting in the engine preferences. Oh, well. It's never to late to learn something new... (which is probably old ) No Romanian... bummer

For people interested in helping: note that the languages already included are incomplete, so help is needed for those too! For example, month/week names are translated but other UI text is in English.

It can be downloaded here: Here is an initial attempt at a Dutch Localization File. As I am not a native speaker of Dutch, it may be as well to get it checked by someone who is! EDIT: By the way: The alert that appears when you check for new versions/updates is not being translated.
